Tina Peters, Mesa County, Colorado Elections Clerk Indicted

According to an article appearing in The New York Times on March 9, 2022, Ms. Peters and her assistant clerk, Belinda Knisley are both accused of tampering with elections machines, security and procedures in 2021. Despite being told by state officials not to allow access to voting machines or provide passwords for those machines to unauthorized individuals, Peters, a supporter of The Big Lie, is charged with doing just that. Copies of those passwords appeared on a conservative website called Gateway Pundit, and days later software from the Mesa County voting machines was projected on large monitors at a South Dakota election symposium organized by the conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell and attended by Ms. Peters.
